Course Learning Outcome 3

“Negotiate your own writing goals and audience expectations regarding conventions of genre, medium, and rhetorical situation”

 

During the course we were assigned assignments that required us to write in a professional manner as opposed to the essay format that most students are used to. In these assignments we had to identify genre, medium, and rhetorical situations. To let us gain experience on these types of assignments Professor Carr assigned us genre analysis questions before every assignment in which we looked at samples of previous students’ works.
